1. How expensive is Christmas light installation?

Pricing can vary depending on the area and number of strands and bulbs that are to be installed. Services are all-inclusive which mean they include complete installation, equipment (extension cords, power strips, etc.) and take-down and start at $499 and can vary depending on your needs. The lighting specialists can neatly pack away your lights at your location so you can use them again next year. A lighting specialist can arrive at your home or business and provide a free estimate.

2. How much are estimates?

Estimates are completely free.

3. How much do you charge to wrap trees?

The pricing can vary depending on the size of tree, how close you want the strands (the closer the strands are to each other, the more strands and labor required) and if branches are also wrapped. Please request a free estimate to get exact pricing.

4. How many strands does it take to decorate a tree?

The number of strands varies depending on the size and desired visual effect.

5. Are there electrical requirements?

Yes, a large number of strands require a dedicated circuit. HoustonLight.com will not be held responsible for inadequate, faulty, or overloaded electrical sources at the place of service.  You may be required to provide electrical connection from inside the house or hire an electrician to ensure minimal electrical requirements.

6. How much advance notice do I need to schedule an installation?

Due to the high demand for Christmas lighting, we recommend estimate appointments be made at least 5 days in advance to ensure availability and scheduling.

7. When can my holiday decorations be installed?

Holiday decorating begins in the month of October and continues until approximately the second week in December. Removals begin on January 2 thru January 31.

8. What is the maximum height the lights can be installed?

For homes and commercial buildings, the maximum height our installers can safely install lights on a home is 30 feet. The maximum height for light installation on trees is 15 feet.

9. Do my holiday lights stay on all day?

The option of an outdoor timer is available - the use of an outdoor timer is recommended and can significantly cut down on energy costs.

10. What if a strand goes out?

If a strand goes out within 48 hours of installation, Houston Light will replace the strand free of charge, no questions asked.

If a strand goes out after the initial 48 hours and you purchased a Light Installation Guarantee at the time of service HoustonLight.com will fix/replace the strand for no charge. If the guarantee was not purchased, HoustonLight.com will come out to repair the strand for a fee. Simply call us at 713-401-9069 to schedule a lighting specialist to come out to fix/replace the malfunctioning strand.

If it is raining or snowing, or precipitation is in the forecast, pleas turn off and unplug all your Christmas lights. Leaving lights on during precipitation can cause the lights to short circuit and go out.

11. Who provides the lights and decorations?

HoustonLight.com can provide all lights and decorations and include them in the quote. HoustonLight.com ensures optimal performance and safety of all installed lights and decorations and provides storage bins for year-round storage.

12. What if I have my own lights?

Most incandescent Christmas light bulbs last a maximum of 2 to 3 years (LEDs can last 5+). Lighting specialists prefer to use brand new high grade lights to ensure optimal performance of your lights throughout the holiday season. This alleviates issues such as strand burn out often encountered with pre-owned lights.

13. Do you rent and/or store the lights?

Renting the lights might be the right option for you as you can save money from paying full price to own the lights, plus can be a great space saver. As your Lighting Specialist about more details around renting lights and decorations.

14. Will HoustonLight.com install lights outside the Houston area?

At this time, HoustonLight.com performs Christmas lighting installations within a 30 mile radius of Harris and Fort Bend county, including The Woodlands and Galveston.
